We just launched the new website for our art-lifestyle brand, Doodlers Anonymous. As the permanent home for spontaneous art, Doodlers Anonymous is a modern art blog featuring a vast archive of creative inspiration, hand-drawn interviews by contemporary artists, doodle challenges and prompts, giveaways, and a catalog of art-based goods. Since its creation, Doodlers Anonymous has given exposure to thousands of up-and-coming artists and illustrators and has become an international community of like-minded creatives and art aficionados who share a love of hand drawing.
The Doodlers Anonymous website was in need of a revamp, with the latest website design dating back to 2009. We modernized the site by making it fully responsive providing the visitor the best viewing experience whether they are on a mobile device, leaning back on their couch consuming it on a TV, or browsing on a desktop computer.
The new website makes use of a custom CMS system developed by Doodle + Code, specifically with the Doodlers Anonymous community in mind, with personal profiles, voting functionality for drawing challenges, an interactive blog, and more.
We also heavily integrated the site with a Content Delivery Network (CDN), allowing the site to be cached closer to the person browsing the site. This integration improved loading speeds for the website by over 300% and greatly decreased bandwidth consumption.
Finally, we created custom Mailchimp integrations for automated marketing capabilities, and improved communication with the Doodlers Anonymous community. This integration allowed the team to reduce redundancy and provide better customer service.
We can’t wait to make continual improvements and add more capability in the coming months to Doodlers Anonymous – our passion project.
